Job Description

To support our continued growth, we are seeking an Analyst in our US office with experience in technical pre-sales support for enterprise storage. The Analyst will be responsible for assessing products and vendors in the storage market by collecting, verifying, and analyzing data on the pricing, performance, and functional capabilities of storage products and technology at a very fine level of detail. Based on his/her analysis, the Research Analyst must be able to objectively and defensibly determine the relative tradeoffs between various storage products, including Storage Area Networks (SAN), Network Attached  Storage (NAS) and Storage Virtualization platforms from multiple vendors, including EMC, Hitachi Data Systems, HP, IBM, Fujitsu, Netapp, Oracle and others.

The Analyst role is subject to critical publication deadlines, and candidates must be capable of handling heavy workloads that vary widely in scope and complexity. The role will require the ability to multitask and provide critical insights based on independent thought.

Requirements

Suitable candidates should possess the following skills and background:
 

• BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or Engineering; MBA a plus
• Acute understanding of storage hardware and software; knowledge of the Information Technology (IT) industry, server industry, datacenters, and pricing experience are a plus
• Experience performing competitive analysis of SAN, NAS, and Virtualization functions from multiple vendors is a plus
• Experience as storage architect, storage systems engineer, or storage product manager is a plus
• 5-7 years of working experience in related areas
• Excellent mathematical and analytical skills
• Attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and on deadline
• Passion for technology
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency with spreadsheets and web-based online tools
• Ability to search for, collect, and organize information from a variety of sources
• Some development background (programming or product engineering) preferred
• Strong communications abilities – including report writing, blogging, and public presentation – will be essential for career progress
