Peter Wallace joined the Board in March 2004. He is the founder and Managing Director of Endeavour Capital, an independent investment and advisory company, and the Chairman of Ambertech Limited.
From 1998 to 2002, Peter served as Managing Director of a listed venture capital company. Prior to establishing Endeavour Capital in 1998, he was an Investment Director with venture capitalist Hambro-Grantham (now called Colonial First State Private Equity). Other past roles include Chartered Accountant with the antecedent firm of Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu, and Finance Director of Zip Heaters (Aust) Pty Limited.
Peter possesses over 15 years of venture capital experience and has been a non-executive director of over 20 companies in a wide range of industries including: biotechnology, distribution, financial services, healthcare, information technology, manufacturing and retail. He holds Bachelor of Commerce and Master of Business Administration degrees, is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, and is a fellow of the Institute of Company Directors.
Robert McKelvey was appointed to the Board on June 16, 2005. He also serves as Director of McKelvey & Associates Pty Ltd.
Rob has many years of experience in senior management roles in the global IT industry and most recently held the position of Senior Vice President and Managing Director of the Asia Pacific region for the US-based IT research company, Gartner Group. He joined Gartner in 1996 and played an integral role in expanding the company’s presence into new markets in the region. He was responsible for overseeing Gartner’s presence in such areas as Japan, greater China, India, S.E. Asia, Korea, Australia, and New Zealand.
Prior to Gartner, Rob held General Management and Vice President positions for Sterling Software in the Asia-Pacific area, then Europe, Middle East, and Africa.
Rob is also a member of several professional bodies including the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD), and is a fellow of the Australian Institute of Management (AIM).
Ian Birks was appointed to the board in December 1988. He served as the CEO and Managing Director of Ideas International Limited from November 2001 to November 2007, having previously worked as the company’s Chief Operating Officer.
Before joining IDEAS as the company’s second employee in 1987, Ian held national management roles with computer vendors in education and training, and customer support roles, including the operation of Prime Computer’s National Response Centre. Ian graduated from the University of Manchester (UK) in 1979 with a B.Sc (Technology) Honours. He is a current national board member of the Australian Industry Information Association (AIIA) and is a current member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD). Furthermore, Ian is currently the appointed Chair of the Australian Federal Government’s IT Industry Innovation Council (ITIIC) and also is the Managing Director of SKRIB Pty Ltd.
Stephen joined Ideas International Limited in November 2007. Stephen has a broad business background in IT, information, and software solutions having been employed in similar sectors for over 15 years and has held senior positions in Australia, Asia-Pacific, and the UK. Stephen holds a Bachelors Degree in Physics from the University of Birmingham, UK and is based in our Hornsby office in NSW.
