Ideas International Announces That Sal Capizzi Has Joined as Vice President and Senior Analyst for Enterprise Storage Solutions

Australian-based global IT industry research company Ideas International Limited (ASX:IDE) has today announced the appointment of Sal Capizzi as Vice President and Senior Analyst for the Enterprise Storage Solutions practice. In this role, Sal will drive the research agenda as well as grow the storage research practice area.

Sal has many years of experience with data storage technology from both the analyst and vendor sides of the business. Most recently, Sal was a senior analyst at Yankee Group’s enabling technologies organization. There he focused on data storage hardware and management solutions where he conducted market research on data storage technologies and trends to facilitate technology decision making on behalf of clients. Sal worked with clients to help make decisions regarding the deployment of data storage hardware, storage management, data protection, and security solutions.

Before joining Yankee Group, Sal worked as an independent analyst where he provided market research and competitive analysis services to vendors in the data storage industry. During this time, he co-authored reports on storage resource management, storage networking, and continuous data protection. Sal also has extensive experience on the vendor side of the business, where he worked as product marketing manager and product manager with companies such as EMC, Compaq, and Data General. His area of focus in these roles included data storage solutions, specifically storage hardware, SAN and NAS technologies, storage resource management, and data protection.

Sal holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Bentley College and a Master of Public Administration degree from Suffolk University. He is from the Boston, Massachusetts area where he currently resides with his wife, son, and daughter.
