Leading Australian-based global IT research firm, Ideas International Limited (ASX: IDE), today announced its full year financial results for the period ending 31 December, 2005.
The company reported a post tax loss of $147,362 for 2005, which represents a 76.3 percent improvement over the post tax loss of $621,186 for the equivalent period in 2004.
Revenue for the 2005 year was $6.96 million. This is down by 4.3 percent on the prior year; however revenues were flat if adjusted for the impact of foreign exchange.
Commenting on the company’s 2005 results performance, the Managing Director of Ideas International, Mr. Ian Birks, said: “Our results in 2005 show the continuation of a positive trend illustrating that we are progressing toward our goal of achieving sustainable profitability for the company. We will continue this momentum in 2006 through strategies which improve sales performance whilst keeping tight controls on expenses. ”
Mr. Birks added “During 2005 the value of our sales bookings increased by 9.2 percent over 2004. This is a good result and is particularly pleasing after we experienced a relatively slow period of sales during the northern hemisphere summer. All of the bookings growth came in the latter half of the year and therefore only had a limited impact in terms of revenue contribution.”
Looking to improve performance, the company reduced the level of expenses associated with their US operation by over $500,000 per annum in the second half of 2005. There have been no adverse effects on the company’s performance from these reductions.
Looking to the future, Mr. Birks stated that “Ideas International remains committed to building on its position as the global research company that is recognised for comparative assessment of high-end infrastructure technologies. We will continue to focus our expert technology analysts on the Server, Storage, Systems Software and Services segments where there is continued strong growth and where a number of “hot topic” subjects are high on the importance list of our clients such as data center power and cooling issues, virtualisation management techniques, storage and server consolidation and more in-depth insight into services and support differentiation.”
