Ideas International Announces June 2005 half-year results

Leading Australian-based worldwide IT research and advisory firm, Ideas International Limited (ASX: IDE), today announced their 2005 half-year financial results.

The company’s total revenue as at 30th June 2005 was $3.409 million which is down by 9.4 percent on the equivalent period in 2004. A net loss after tax of $227,252 was announced for the six-month period, compared to a net profit after tax of $215,696 for the prior year.

Managing Director of Ideas International, Mr. Ian Birks, said: “Our half-year financial performance was disappointing for us and was significantly impacted by two factors. The first of these was a contract delay closeout with a major customer renewal, a substantial portion of which has since been signed. The second contributing factor was a slow-down in our US-based consulting business in the April to June period. After re-focusing our sales and research management in July and August we have now seen positive signs that our consulting business pipeline has improved and is now operating at forecasted levels”.

The company advised that it had restructured its operations recently with the net effect of removing approximately $500,000 out of annualized expenses. The financial benefit of this restructure will be realised over the course of the 2006 year.

Action taken to reduce expenditure and the impact of contract renewals currently being negotiated are expected to deliver a small profit for 2005 in accordance with previous market advice.
