Australian-based global IT industry research company Ideas International Limited (ASX:IDE) has today announced the appointment of Mr. Robert McKelvey as a Non-Executive Director.

Mr. McKelvey has many years of experience of senior management roles in the global IT industry. Most recently, Mr. McKelvey held the position of Senior Vice President and Managing Director of the Asia Pacific region for the US based IT research company, Gartner Group. He joined Gartner in 1996 and played an integral role in expanding the company’s presence into new markets in the region. He was responsible for overseeing Gartner’s presence in such areas as Japan, Greater China, India, S.E. Asia, Korea, Australia and New Zealand.

Prior to Gartner, Mr. McKelvey served in General Management and Vice President positions for Sterling Software in the Asia-Pacific area, then Europe, Middle East and Africa.

Mr. McKelvey holds a BA in History and Psychology and resides in Sydney with his wife and son. He is a member of several professional bodies including the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD), and is a fellow of the Australian Institute of Management (AIM).
