Our specialized focus, our powerful underlying information dataset, and our unmatched technical analyst capability in these areas effectively positions us to provide highly valued research and advisory services for both the buy and sell sides of the global IT industry.
Ideas International was founded in Sydney, Australia in 1981 by John Tulloch. The firm started as an IT consultancy before moving into the sale of competitive computer systems research in 1986.
In April 2001, Ideas International Limited floated on the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX:IDE). Three years later, in January 2004, IDEAS acquired the related research interests of D.H. Brown Associates, Inc., a long-established US-based provider of research and advisory services.
Building on the acquisition of D.H. Brown Associates, Inc., IDEAS is now a formidable mid-tier player in the global IT research industry – a market that turns over more than US$2 billion per year. Headquartered in Sydney, Australia with local offices in the UK (Oxfordshire) and the US (Rye Brook, NY), IDEAS is a truly international company that services some of the largest technology vendors (IBM, HP, Sun, EMC and Microsoft, among others) and IT-user organizations (Altria, Bayer, British Telecommunications, and Citigroup, among others) in the world.
